We’ve set up a new website! Here’s the link: RUTGERSTIPS.COM
All the content and questions are still there and it’s much more user-friendly than this blog is. So if you have any questions or your questions weren’t answered on here, post them on this new website and they’ll be answered on there. Thanks!

For people who still need a football ticket for...
It’s possible that you can get one 3 different ways:
1. At the t-shirt distributions (the last one is tomorrow on College Ave from 10-3), you can get a ticket there.
2. “For any student that cannot attend the t-shirt distributions tickets can be picked up at the Rutgers Ticket Office located in the lobby of the RAC on Wednesday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and on Thursday from 8:30...
From Rutgers Department of Transportation...
Attention all Commuters with Zone B permits. Tomorrow, Thursday Sept 1st, you will have to park in the Livingston Campus Yellow Lot. Use Avenue E to Hospital Road to get to the Yellow Lot.
AND the Involvement Fair has been rescheduled to...
It’s from 3-7 in the same location (Voorhees Mall on College Ave).
Route 18 is now open again!
So if you’re coming today, you can get here on 18.
Anonymous asked: Is there a way we can find out what roads are open right now so we can navigate in and out of Rutgers? Is there a site or something?
Anonymous asked: Just moved into the dorms, my roomie and I were wondering when and how is the trash taken out? Is it on a weekly basis? Do we take it out ourselves? And if so, where do we take it?
Anonymous asked: Do you think I could pick up my parking permit before I move in tomorrow morning or should I just wait until I'm all settled in and then go pick it up?
Anonymous asked: This might be an awkward question, but...I'm living in an on campus apartment with three other girls. If I wake up early and take a shower, do I go back to my room to get dressed, or should I just take clothes with me to change in the bathroom?
Finally at school!
So I would answer your questions right now but 1, my outlet in my room is broken :/ and 2, I’m still setting up. I’m on my phone now so I’ll try my best to get back to you!
sincerely-dean asked: I moved in already. My RA told me that Throwdown is cancelled for tomorrow, but all other activities are still set on happening
Anonymous asked: Just letting you know that you were so right on Nicholas. It is such an interesting [but enjoyable at the same time] place to live at RU. Thanks for all the advice! The fan is really helping.
Anonymous asked: Since now students are being told that they're better off moving in on Tuesday & Wednesday, are freshman activities like Throwdown, WebReg Workshop, etc, still in session? Thanks.
And guys, I'm not at school. I haven't heard any...
Please stop asking me lol. If I hear anything, I’ll post it.
Does anyone knows if Route 18 north BEFORE New...
I know the area in NB by the Raritan is all flooded out, but does anyone know about the area by East Brunswick?
Anonymous asked: For the person who asked if Perry has elevators, it doesn't -__- . Which is very inconvenient since there are like four floors and kids have a hard time moving all there stuff up there ! Goooddddluckkk!
sunnycami asked: the roads within rutgers are clear here! so everyone, you'll be safe :)
Anonymous asked: so where should we pick up our keys? the building we're staying out or our campus' housing office?
Anonymous asked: What are the move in times for tomorrow?
Anonymous asked: Rt. 18 next to RU is completely flooded from the raritan river but there's definitely alternate routes to get to the different campuses. College ave may be the hardest, just warning!
Anonymous asked: So they're just "advising" we don't move in for our safety, right? Even if it takes 5 hours of detours we can go? Where would we pick up our keys?
Anonymous asked: Hey! I moved in yesterday (the 27th). Do you think I can just go back today? The weather seems fine, and I don't have anything to bring, except a backpack. Do you know if I'll actually be prevented from entering campus?
Anonymous asked: My friend wants me to help her move in Monday, Am I allowed to enter with her, set up and chill and stuff? or will the RA kick me out?
Anonymous asked: if i get mail sent to my PO BOX, will i be notified? do i have a key to the mailbox? how does it work?
Anonymous asked: what top 3 apartments would you recommend to live at next year
Anonymous asked: is there a starbucks on campus?
Anonymous asked: So Rutgers advised not moving in until Tuesday or Wednesday, so what will be happening for students that are there already??!?
Anonymous asked: How would I find out changes to the bus schedule that resulted from the hurricane? Or if the buses are even running, for that matter.
Anonymous asked: Do you know where the mailboxes are on Busch?
Anonymous asked: what's sakai? how do you use it?
sunnycami asked: whats the website called to find out the next bus thats arriving?
Anonymous asked: are you still going to move-in on tuesday, even though they okayed monday? i'm coming from like 45 minutes away, but i still don't wanna get stuck...
Rutgers just changed the thing I just posted.
“In the aftermath of Irene, travel around the Rutgers-New Brunswick campus is likely to be restricted on Mon., 8/29 due to flooding and road closures. We therefore advise any students who have not yet moved into their residence halls to check the status of the roads in the areas around campus before attempting to move in on Mon. If they are unable to move in Mon., they should do so on either...
Anonymous asked: i'm moving in on monday, how will i be able to get my room key and all that?
Anonymous asked: for parties in rutgers? people just go in normal clothing right? like the movies? or does everyone dress up more like they're going to a club? im curious, thanks!
Anonymous asked: how would i be able to get into the rockoff apartments for next year? is it hard?
Anonymous asked: so i saw on the website that the throwdown and target night are CANCELLED?!?!
Anonymous asked: if there is a class that i want to switch into, but right now online it says it's full but it's a morning math class so likely that people will switch times, should i show up to that class the first day?
Anonymous asked: Is General Psychology 101 two semesters long, or just one? Thanks in advance. :-)
marebearcare asked: so my roomate is thinking about not going to rutgers now, what would happen if she backed out? would i get a new roomate?

If you moved into Nicholas or Gibbons, you might...
You better have been nice to them. Loljk. Kinda.
Anonymous asked: So, I want a school that has tons of pride. When I went to visit Virginia Tech, there were stores in its town that had VT stuff for EVERYTHING. They had hokie stickers, hokie wedding garters, hokie oven mitts, hokie everything. Can Rutgers compare with that? Are there stores that sell little red R stickers to put on your face?
Anonymous asked: we're given a drawer right? or is it attached to the desk we get?
